Source code of the FFmpeg library

What this page is for

QORA plays audio in the formats AC-3, E-AC-3 and DTS with a self-built version of the FFmpeg library. FFmpeg is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), version 2.1 or later. We built it without any GPL components: the configuration contains neither --enable-gpl nor --enable-nonfree. Here you will find the matching source code and the scripts used to build the library.

  • FFmpeg 6.0.2, commit 110e2cd229d5acfdd950f5d09381afc41c263523, with the LGPL 2.1 licence text
  • the decoder_ffmpeg module from androidx/media, version 1.11.0 (commit 2bc207851df311340767e913931ca7b28cab1794), with the bridge to Android and the build script build_ffmpeg.sh

Checksum

Use this to check that you have exactly this file. SHA-256 of the archive:

On Windows, check it in the command prompt with certutil -hashfile, the file name and then SHA256. On Linux and macOS use sha256sum or shasum -a 256. The SHA-256 of the shipped library media3-decoder-ffmpeg-lgpl-1.11.0.aar is listed in the README inside the archive.

Your rights

You may use, modify and pass on the library under the terms of the LGPL 2.1. A byte-identical rebuild is not guaranteed for builds with the Android NDK. From these sources the library can be rebuilt with the recipe in a functionally equivalent form.
